SAT memory

O.K. so I had to replace my lcd screen because a key flew into it...(see another posting)...ever since then when I fire up the truck the SAT starts on the Weather channel not the last channel I was on when I turned the unit off/parked in the garage. What gives? I can not for the life of me find the setting for this feature - can anyone help?

Perhaps your memory settings include the station the radio/SAT was on at the time of setting.

Possibly the 6 months of free Sirius has gone by - between the point of my six month free subscription and me renewing the SAT was stuck on the weather channel...

An obvious way to get you to renew, don't you think? ...

Very interesting point. March 31 is the end of my 6 month trial... But since this started happening in January at the same time the COMAND unit was changed out...it seems more likely it is the system than the service.

So - may I ask whoever is reading: Does the last SAT station you were listening to before you shut off your truck come on when you re-enter and start it up? Or does the weather channel or some other station come up first?

Mine always comes up to the last station listened.

But I think you are on to something here. You command unit has a satellite ID number called an ESN. I would think when you replaced your command unit the ESN changed. You could check by logging on to Sirius, or calling them and getting the ESN on your account and then check the ESN on your vehicle. I can't remember the exact hot key, but I think there is a service or system hot key when listening to satelite that will show your number.

Assuming they are different, then call Sirius and tell them you have a new system to activate. If I were you I'd tell them it's a new MB and you need to activate the new ESN. Ask for 'deals' if you extend at the time of activation. I got a super deal when I did.

Yep just called Sirius and they sent a new signal and we are all set. The ESN was the same so no luck with another 6 months free!

Thanks Jim!!

O.K. - now it has reverted back to when I start the truck it comes on the Weather channel again. Sirius is telling me it is a problem with the vehicles receiver...ugh...another trip across town!
