GL Online owner's manual.

Hey!

I know this was posted a year or so ago, but the URL seems to have changed, so here it goes again. Lots of questions answered here:

http://www4.mercedes-benz.com/e/cars...iebsanleitung/

Perhaps we should request a sticky?

oknish 06-08-2008 11:52 PM

I second the request to make it sticky, please.

bonesb 06-11-2008 01:21 PM

Chiming in for a request to make the link sticky.

Air Marshall Eldritch 06-11-2008 02:45 PM

What is a sticky? Where can I get one?

:D

oknish 06-11-2008 02:54 PM

Thanks, RBrenton.

Brocktoon 06-11-2008 03:42 PM

This manual seems to be updated on an ongoing basis. If you look under "safety", in the pic where they show the airbag locations, you can clearly see they have changed the pic to reflect the new , '09 steering wheel, so this should be a good, ongoing resource...

Thanks RBrenton, I'll have to catch you for a pivo next time in Kiev.

No issues here. It was down for a bit a couple of months ago but up shortly thereafter with a couple of revisions - maybe you just hit it when it was taken offline for a bit. The newer link works fine for me just a minute ago...

No luck from home or work!

Try starting here:

or here:

or here:

This sticky's dead for me, at the time of this post. (Wolfgang's ones do go to the links they're intended for, though.)

This link includes the 2008 GL550:

https://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/Digital...l450_gl550.pdf

Not sure how helpful its going to be. Doesnt even tell you which viscosity oil to use...

use any oil with “MB-Approval 229.5” printed on the bottle. Since this will be a full synthetic, viscosity is irrelevant. Nevertheless, it will be 0W-40 or 5W-40

Question

Hi everyone just was wondering what is a sticky wasn’t sure what it means

Standuhr 04-08-2021 04:20 PM

manual and engine oil

1) To get an operator's manual, google these words:
gl450 site:www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb

2) To see a list of names of engine oils, google these words with quotes:
"MB-Approval 229.5"
Ignore any hits that say "229.51." The word "approval" is important.

bttucker 06-04-2021 02:55 PM

I tried Standuhr's link to the Owner's manual - they must have reorganized. It can be found as of today anyhow at:

https://www.mbusa.com/en/owners/manuals

Standuhr 06-04-2021 03:53 PM

Bttucker's link works, but only goes back to model year 2012.

Unfortunately neither of of these sites are working now:
www4.mercedes-benz.com => dead for many years
www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb => "404 Not Found" as of a few weeks ago

bttucker 06-04-2021 03:56 PM

Sorry about the 2012 - wish it were different, as I own 1995 and 2001 MBs...

Would you happen to still have the phone adapter?
