New Rear Seat Entertainment System!!!!!!
I noticed a new option under the GL class' website (Build Your Own; accessories page). It appears to be 2 7" LCD screens on the back of the headrests with the DVD slot built into each of the screens. You could also sync one screen to the other. It also no longer has the small housing that the 2009-2010 system has. It has rounded edges and a newer design. You can also connect your USB drive to the system! I have attached a picture from the MBUSA website. The current system is also still available, so I am guessing that the newer one will only be dealer installed and the current one will continue to be built in the factory.

I have learned that this RSE will be available as an upgrade on any car with or even some cars WITHOUT any pre-wiring or current Rear Seat Entertainment. This will only be dealer installed for 150 dollars more than the one that is an option from the factory. The 2009-10 RSE will still stick around for a while, but the new one will only be for cars that don't have RSE or who want to upgrade. You can't get this system installed from the factory, its simply a dealer accessory.
justthebest, you might have to check with your dealer parts supervisor to see if it will fit. It has been around for a little while and is used on cars that don't have pre-wiring for RSE.
NOTE: This may or may not be the new system (I am 80% sure its not).
