Exhaust Leak
All, I have a 09 GL320 Bluetec that's had the turbo air inlet seal replaced along with the gasket on the oil cooler. Since having the turbo air inlet seal replaced I've been getting the smell of exhaust in the cabin when sitting still and idling. This only happens when it is cold outside.
The other issue the car has is when the exhaust system is performing it's particulate filter regeneration I can smell the burnt smell associated with that when I come to a stop. This happens regardless of the outside temp. It seems like the hvac is drawing in leaking exhaust gases when the car is sitting still. I have taken it to the dealership several times and they can't seem to find the leak. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
