Trani Flush & Trans Output Shaft

Hello! Last month I took my 2012 GL450 in for its B Service. I'm just over 50k miles. When I picked it up they told me I would have to come back soon for a train flush and trans output shaft. He said it was no emergency as I could take my 3000 mile round trip to NYC before I came back in. They quoted me $1175 which seems really high considering flush is only a couple hundred. Would I really need an entire output shaft at 50k miles? I'm not even sure what that is. Thank you for your help in advance! I just signed up to ask the previous question about my a/c dripping and remembered this! :-)

They are most likely referring to the transmission output shaft seal, in which your case the bulk of your cost is labor
