P2015 - Intake Manifold Runner Posn Sensor: Location on GL320?

Getting P2015 - Intake Manifold Runner Posn Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance error. Engine is low on power and maxes out at 3000 RPM. Can get up to highway speeds but slow acceleration.

I have been looking all over the interwebs to find the location of this sensor/motor or linkage. Some say it is under the turbo, but I just see black plastic.

I am gathering there is no easy fix to this, but looking to see what I can do about this problem. Would like to have my power back.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.:bow::bow:

Most likely your fuel filter is clogged. Replace and if problem still persists - the runner flapper thingie is inside the intake manifold. The manifold needs to come off to replace the assembly. It is flimsy and a common problem.

runner flaps

On the front of the intake manifold, if you dig down through the miscellaneous hoses and wires, to the right(as you are facing it) of the AIR pump you can see the lever arm that operates the flaps. With that code, it is probably broken. You can take a screwdriver and move it back and forth to check. It is a cheap plastic part. There is a replacement kit out there on the interwebs that utilizes a metal replacement. The question is whether you would rather have the arm on the outside of the intake break if the flaps get in a bind, or would you rather possibly have something on the inside of the intake break where it could get sucked into a valve if you use the metal. The intake assembly is pretty easy to replace, just a few hours work, but Mercedes is really proud of their inferior product and price it accordingly. Will the metal repair kit destroy your engine? Probably not, but it's one more thing to worry about. Good luck with your decision.

Hi guys!

I think what is possible to delete flaps and errors from ECU. I do it in some Mercedes (not 63 amg...) and works perfect.

If do you want i can share the chiptuner who can do it.

Regards!

I changed the air box on my c220 cdi.(£40 from breakers) It came with a MAF and turned out it was the MAF after all. Got all my power back

I have the same problem but it was after I pulled an injector. To get the vehicle started again I had to bleed the line to get the air out. Ever since it is rough to start and now it's throwing p2015. I deleted the coffee but it comes right back.

I have the same P2015 code pop after, fairly quickly after resetting it and yet neither performance or MPG is effected. Most odd
