Anyone running 295 35 21 Pirelli Winter Carving tires?

Anyone running Pirelli Winter Carving tires on the stock 21's? Looking at any feedback for these tires. I know that the OEM size is the 40's profile but I can get a great deal on some barely used 35's. Wondering how they would perform in snow and ice. Thanks in advance.

I can't help you there as I am actually going from 20s to 18s for my Winter setup. Typically you want to increase your rubber for Winter and you seem to be losing rubber.

You'll be losing 0.6 inches of sidewall...or greater than 1.1 in total tire height.

For winter driving, you want a skinnier tire. The wider they are (including stock width), they tend to just float on top, rather than digging in. Wide tires are great for sand and mud, but not for snow.

Thank you all for this info. Decided to go one size down with 20's. 275 40 20 on Rhine RTX Benz replica's with General brand studded tires. Should do the job nicely this winter.

Did a tire consultant tell you that size would be okay?

You are losing 1.6 inches of total tire height and 0.3 inches of sidewall...giving you only 4.3 total inches of sidewall.

265/50r20 or 275/50r20 would be a better option and gain you sidewall height and bring you a lot closer to your 295/40r21 diameter.
