Blind spot assist inoperative.

Hi,
I have a 2012 GL450 4matic. I recently upgraded all interior lights to white LEDs but somehow after upgrade a message appeared in the instrument cluster "Blind spot assist inoperative". What went wrong? Also, glove box light is not turning on even with the old bulb.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

A similar weirdness happens if you plug a trailer with LED lights into the rear towing connector. The Mercedes computer is looking for resistance associated with incandescent bulbs, does not find it, and then puts the blind spot assist into panic mode.

The fix is to install leds that include a resistor to mimic an incandescent light. You will often see these referred to as "CANBUS" compliant. This is a very common problem in vehicles produced just before LEDs became popular.

Thanks for your response. How do I fix it? I'm sure reinstalling older bulbs won't fix it.

Thanks
