Very Basic Question here about Command center

Hello guys, I'm new here and I have a question regarding my GL 350 2010 command center.
I know, maybe this is a stupid question but I can't find the answer. When I'm listening, for example, the radio, and I have the navi ON, if I want to turn off the radio but keep the Navi ON, how can I do that? the only way is to push the ON/OFF button and the whole unit goes OFF or turn down the volume to the min or push mute.
Any other way to just turn off the sound source but keep the screen on?
Thanks !

hit Radio and then hit mute & go back to Nav .. pressing mute in the current screen is the trick

You don't even need to hit the radio button, just press the mute button (third button down the left side - next to the "SYS" button).

I asked a friend of mine who is from Germany, "why can't I turn the radio off, instead of muting it?" He said that there's some type of emergency broadcast system (maybe just for road conditions...I don't remember) and the radio needed to be on to receive the broadcast and provide emergency notice/instructions.

If you hit the mute button on Nav screen and e.g. its saying "turn left on bla bla" then it will mute your Nav voice instructions .. so you have to go to the screen you want to mute and then return to previous screen

If you hit 'mute' when the nav voice is talking then that is what will be muted. It will reset if you hit 'repeat'. If you hit mute when the radio/CD/aut inputs are playing then THAT is what will be silent.
