Search on this site - this has been talked about many times. Most will attest that Arnott is the ONLY choice. As my son says... "search it up". I still don't know why he says "up"... what does a direction have to do with searching for something on the interweb? If you search "down", does the 'net go backwards?

Arnott is the go-to brand for almost everyone. Their warranty is much better than Mercedes-Benz's factory parts.

Thanks guys... I did a search for info in the top right corner of this site and didn't get any good results. I'm sure there is great info on the topic at MBworld.
I've used terms such as "aromatic" and "air shock". I'm sure its a user error. A link would be great.

I looked at Arnott but at $650 a shock, I can't afford that price, maybe if I planned to have my Benz for another 10 years, maybe.

Thanks for the help!

Heath

What is that... some kind of automatic scent producing system?

Try going into the advanced section and selecting the titles only criteria, along with the specific sub-forum. Oh... and try "airmatic"...

I think I only paid $450 for one recently? Do you have ADS? What about getting just the bag?

The reality is, their price is fair. If you want to play, you gotta pay. But I'm not sure you'll find anything as well built and reliable as Arnott. Certainly not with the their warranty, on top of it.

As he said, "Airmatic" it is.
I think I paid about 650 for front pair. It was without Ads. I bought it from a different website but they say that warranty is better if you buy directly from Arnott. Quality + Warranty makes it the best option.

I originally thought about getting just the bag, too (your price should be about the same as I paid, not $650). But since the price wasn't that much more for the whole thing, I just bought the whole assembly. Figured my time was worth the small increase in price.

If given the option, don't be afraid of the remanufactured parts. Those are just as good, and they come with the limited lifetime warranty.

Even Arnott's are remanufactured parts and then do not hold up very well. On my third set and the second set went bad after only 6 months. Considering changing out the system to coil-over without airsuspension.

Arnotts are not remanufactured parts unless they specify that they are. Arnotts come with a great warranty, so if you had to replace them the warranty should have covered it.

They are remanufactured! Yes the parts were replaced for free but labor is not free. And only lasted about 6 months before front end banging noises started again when going over bumps at slow speed and then the morning front end sag shortly thereafter.

This is not something that is debatable. Arnott sells remanufactured parts, but their products are new unless they say they are remanufactured. A quick search of their website finds a selection of brand new and remanufactured suspension parts.

If you had a good mechanic, they should give you a 12-month or 10k mile guarantee on all of their work. Arnotts are not difficult to install, so they should not be charging you too many hours.
