Looking to see recommendations for a Carrier for an 08 gl 320 with factory crossbars.

I am am assuming the hard ones are better for wind noise and aerodynamics but don't hold as much.

Looking for for extra room on family vacations

I prefer the hitch mount cargo carrier, though it depends on the type of trip you take. If you're driving to a beach house or mountain cabin, they are easy enough to remove after you unload. If you are staying in hotels and motels along the way, then you're stuck driving around with the cargo carrier extending another 3 feet behind you.
