Whats your current mileage on your x164
mine just hit 178k. Biggest expenses so far are timing chains ans related bits, four corners suspension nd intake manifold actuator other than that just routine maintenance

I just passed 150k. 2008 gl320cdi. So far other then air suspension, glow plug controller, dpf sensor, it has been good.
I have a small oil leak dripping on my drive belt, the air hopefully just needs a recharge and I can see a fuel leak at one of the injectors. Nothing substantial. I am currently changing oil at 7.5. Trans/tc at 40 and diff at 80.
Hope to see some high mileage from this vehicle. Best vehicle purchased so far. Feel lucky seeing some posters issues.

GL450, next milestone 250k miles. Runs great with no oil added between 10k mile oil change intervals. Recently repaired intake flappy and magnetic pickup for drivers side cam and proactively changed coil packs, and crank position sensor. There was a leak around the oil filter so that was fixed too.
I did not see mileage increase after flappy repair but it did improve acceleration. It's fixed but not sure I would have fixed it knowing there was no change in mileage from what I can tell.

2007 GL450 currently about 120k miles. Biggest repair so far air suspension, struts, A/C compressor, and steering rack. Other than that, been a great luxurious ride over the years!

2010 GL 350 Bluetec
2010 GL 350 Bluetec - Currently at 78K miles, just out of extended warranty, so far its been pretty good, had both front air suspension units and the oil cooler gasket replaced under warranty. Seems to be holding up well and fairly consistent about getting all the maintenance done. Compared to others above is is a relatively low mileage unit.

2008 GL450 with 92k miles. So far, bigger expenses has been all 4 airbags/struts, steering rack and a/c compressor. Rest normal maintenance. The percentage of owners over ~75k mi that haven't had to replace the airbags has got to be super low.

2012 GL350 52,500 miles. Great vehicle so far with the oil cooler, new tires, brakes and both front air struts repaired and replaced! Dealer serviced and happy but my wife loves the new Jaguar F-Pace so maybe it's time!!

99,999 so far on it. Repair bills have been well over $10,000 in the last year alone. Radiator, intake manifold, all four airbags, charcoal canister, and I'm sure a few more. This has been the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned and will be my last Benz. I even had to buy a spare 2008 Lexus to keep in the garage as a back up. Mercedes should be ashamed to sell crap like this.

167k on my 08 GL550.
Other than routine maintenance addressed the following
both front struts for better ride.
rears shocks (leaking air bag).
Power steering pump.
camshaft position sensor
Oil separator gasket (leaking oil), vbelt, and thermostat.

2011 GL550, 147700 miles and $6000+ repair bill last 3 years. Most of the expenses were suspension related and guess what the front struts are on the way out soon. It is a damn money pit but it is still cheaper to fix than buy a new SUV(no more GL)

71,700 on my 2007. It's just a baby! Still have some nagging issues like broken intake flap lever and airmatic stuck high, and the subframe creak. But I love it.

My '07 CDI has 73K miles. I bought this for occasional trailer pulling and feel it's a ridiculous size vehicle for urban driving with just a driver, so have other various smaller vehicles to absorb the mileage.
In July, traveled to Houston to help step daughter purchase an '07 GL 450 with 75K miles ... in hindsight we rescued it just in time from Houston! Same Desert Silver as mine but with many more options, most notably leather and IR glass. First V8 GL I've driven ... it's nice. The 17 mpg indicated we achieved on the trip back to Albuquerque is pretty much what I get in city driving in my diesel.
I've installed the rear-to-front wiring harness for trailer brake controller in both now!
Mercedes is hilarious ... Desert Silver is a USA-only color name. In the rest of the world it's travertine beige.

Owned it over 100k miles now. Took me a while, but I'm starting to like it quite a bit.
Started to like it a lot more once I went off road in it. Found out the motor was solid, even though it drinks oil, so I didn't sweat it too much when I had to replace the tranny.
