No power to any cabin 12v outlet
Hi everyone,
I've got an issue with my cigarette lighter and all of the power outlets in the car. When the key is on or off or the engine is on, no power goes to the cigarette lighter, or any of the other power outlets in the vehicle.
I've checked fuses 44 and 45 in the rear of the vehicle and they are both intact.
When the car is on, the bezel light surrounding the cigarette lighter illuminates, however even if I try to heat the lighter up, it will not do it.
Any thoughts? Thanks for your time!
Car I'm working on: 2007 MB GL 450

You misunderstood what I was trying to say... try another "accessory" like a phone charger, etc. In other words, maybe it's the cigarette lighter that is bad, not the outlets.

I've replaced 44 45 and 46 with new good fuses. No luck fixing the problem.
However I did notice no voltage at any of those three fuses even when I key is in the run position. Sorry that I didn't check that first.
Any thoughts? Or should I pull the fuse panel out?

Shoot - I was hoping it was just going to be a bum cig lighter. But I suppose that would have been too easy!
I'm not sure I can offer much specific advise, other to check a wiring diagram.
Is this a "new" problem, or has it always been this way? Or are you just now noticing. If you can track backwards to when this started, was it after something else was worked on/replaced on the car? Maybe something happened during that service.
Do the acc ports share a ground?

This is a problem I'm just noticing, so I'm not sure how long its been going on. I took ownership of the vehicle in January 2017.
The only change that I've made regarding anything electrical was a relay swap, but I don't know off the top of my head which one I swapped around. I did the swap because the new relay I bought at the MB dealer had smaller metal feet than the old style. I wanted the more robust feet for the secondary air pump that I was working on.
I can't believe that the power outlets would be on a relay, but if anyone knows if a relay does control them please let me know which one!

I'm still working to hunt down this issue and based on the wiring diagram I think there may be an issue with the "center console intermediate connector"
I don't want to rip the console out without any idea about where the connector is. Does anyone know where it is within the console?
The clue that I think I've got is that the cigarette lighter bezel illuminates, but no power to the rest of the outlet system, nor does the cigarette lighter get hot.
All power outlets have different grounds, so I don't think it's a grounding issue
I'd appreciate any thoughts anyone might have!

Londonml,
I never got the power outlets to work when the car is off, however I was able to finally get them to activate when the key was in the "on" position. To make this happen, I completely pulled the rear passenger side fuse box and used canned air to clean the extracted fuse box. Now, I'm not foolish enough to think that simply blowing air in the opened up fuse box was enough to fix the issue, but perhaps when I was cleaning it out, I jostled a loose connection on the back of the fuse box or somewhere in the system. When I go to the dealer next, I'll ask them to look at it. I don't want to go just for the no power when the car is off, since the diagnostic fee is more than I care to spend on this issue unless I'm already going for something else.
I would recommend checking continuity between the fuses (can't remember which one was for the cargo area power outlet), and the cargo area power outlet. Make that circuit have continuity, and you're on your way to fixing the issue. Your multimeter should have enough length of wire to do that check easier than to the front or middle power outlets.

Thanks for the response
it’s a baffling problem, and I’d be more than happy with power like you have now with the key in the on position. I checked all the other fuse connections in the box and all are fine apart from those 3, so it must be a Connection issue somewhere!
I’ll pull the rear fuse box and check the connections and fingers crossed a wiggle May sort it.
I was wondering if there is any other inline fuses further towards the battery that may have blown as the battery was replaced when I bought it and I’ve heard they are a pain to fit, so thinking the possibility of something going wrong there that cause this

I'm about to go down the rabbit hole myself, I'll see.
