Question Best SUV cover and Kidsproof floor mats?

Got 4 Gremlins activated since birth. Need to protect the 2014SUV GL550, recently bought. Please advise.

Got too many stuff online and need feedback from the GL forum. Thank you.

2010 Mercedes GL450; 2000 Mercedes ML55 AMG; 2016 VW GLI SEL Stick!!!
Would first check out to see what the return policy is on the Gremlins.
If purchased online, most places will accept returns up to 30 days. If you purchased and taken delivery at a brick and mortar store; you might have better luck with a return.

If not possible.....check with troll under bridge. Have heard will accept gremlins for fee....usually half future income

lol

1. get the oem 4 piece rubber floor mats from your dealer for the first and second row! I like black, less staining etc

2. Get the weathertech rear third row floor mats. Why these. The Weathertech ones cover the actual bit your gremlins will walk on to the get to the 3rd row.
The oem ones just cover the carpet where they sit.

3. if gremlins are really messy....thing about getting floorliners from your dealer or Weathertech. Both will be precision fit.....again recommmendation is black!

4. get the oem behind the rear 3rd row 1 piece molded rubber floor mat. It was available for a 2010...should be able to fit yours too.
If you cant find it, weather tech makes a really good one as well.

5. lastly....dont feed gremlins. Only bad things happen!

6. protect exterior paint and gloss- how?- clay the car and apply cquartz to the car. Will bead off any water and dirt as well as protecting the car from swirls and scratches.
https://www.carpro-us.com/protection...-kit-w-reload/ apply to glass as well on interior passenger windows and exterior glass. Will protect from rain and greasy fingerprints
Finish off with CarPro Reload

7. for extreme carpet protecton: https://www.carpro-us.com/coatings-s...ic-16oz-500ml/
it will repel water and stains

Cheers!

Best of luck.

Your first mistake is you got the first one wet!

"What's the best..." type posts are often hard to answer. There really is no "best" for everyone - no one-size-fits-all answer as these things are highly subjective.

For me, I went with the 3D Maxpider mats (they seem to have added to their product line and the one that looks closest to what I have is the Kagu Line). They are a rubbery/plastic type mat with raised lips around the edges. I've used Husky Liner and Weathertech in the past and both are nice products. I just thought that those two were a little too "utilitarian" for this vehicle. The Maxpider has a more upscale look, but still provides the same functionality. I used these in the front, middle and third row. Again, an opinion, but I thought the best option for the cargo area is the Merc mat that is split for each third row seat, and folds along with the seats. And, it was actually priced nicely - believe I paid about $110/$120 for it. Not bad for something that has the Merc Star embossed on it!!!

Use the search feature here, as well - there's at least a few threads about this.

I had the Weather Tech in the front two rows and replaced them with a product similar to these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fit-Mercede...8rbT4A&vxp=mtr I still have the Weather Tech's in the third row and back.

The ones I actually purchased were made by Autopreme and are more expensive than the first link but I can't tell you if they are any better than the cheaper ones. https://www.autopreme.com/collection...utopreme-basic I do love the Autopreme floor mats since the coverage area is much greater. The Weather Tech's are just OK compared to these.

I looked at those Autopreme ones a while ago. VERY nice looking. Too nice for me - I wouldn't feel right putting my feet on them!

They have been extremely durable and a god send during beach volleyball season. They catch all the sand so it is easily vacuumed up.

I use a combination of things.

1. Floor mats. I have the WeatherTech but I'm not in love with them. They get 'sticky' after a while and stain somewhat easily. Also, coverage on the drivers' mat is poor as it doesn't integrate the dead pedal. Still, better than the stock ones, and the second and third row coverage is very good.
2. I have these nylon covers that go on the seat backs of the front seats. This keeps the kids from putting their feet directly on the seats themselves (i.e. kicking the back of your seat.) Something like this: http://a.co/1T9kIxf
3. I also use a mat that sits under the kids car seats to protect the leather from getting scratched up. Something like this: http://a.co/hu6O9xp
4. Finally, I put a clear protective film, like you use for iPads, on the rear screens for the entertainment system, so the kids couldn't scratch up the screens.

So far, so good, the interior looks great.
