DEF heating element bypass

Hi Guys, my GL320 2009 has a defective DEF tank heater. The coil is getting 30% of AMPs draw.
I did so much work in the last year so I don't have the will power to start a new big project.
I know the resistance of the heating element is supposed to be 2.2 Ohm.
My idea is to install a coil so I can clear the alarm and pass the emissions test.
I have the Star, but can't find a proper wiring diagram to locate a proper plug to install the hack.
Any help will be much appreciated

Was able to bypass. Found wiring diagrams with references to plugs locations.
Installed a 2.5 Ohm magnetic coil between pin#4 and ground.
Was able to clear the code and pass the emissions.

This can be very useful to folks who never see freezing temps. The problem is that when you sell the vehicle it might go to a colder climate and then def will freeze burning out the injector and the pump. Those will be few thousand dollars to replace.

The DEF freezing below -10c. Beside the main heating element it has two more heating coils.
Yes, this solution will work in environments above -10c.
But you can compensate the existing coil with extra load (just add coil with more resistance).
In this case you still have heat (not as good, but still).
My heating element has a resistance of 8 Ohm, so if i will add 4.5 Ohm (parallel). It will give me enough to satisfy the computer and it will not freeze probably to -20c.
Just an idea.

Hello I have teh same issue, I was worndering you someone could provide me with additional details around the 2.5 Omh coil..can someone provide a picture of the coil and where I would connect to the harness and ground ?

Much Thanks in advance
