My GL550 with 161K Miles front shocks were going bad, especially the front right as it kept on making thumping sounds over bumps. The dealer confirmed it too. I was contemplating Arnott and Bilstein but after speaking to Pelican Parts I decided to go with Bilstein to try. The price is $585 with free shipping. I had my patient who owns a repair shop install the front right and the front left is back to normal. After few hundred miles I have ordered another one for the left front and just received it couple days ago. I can’t wait to get this one installed and I can move on with upgrading the Comand.
Is it $585 each, or for the pair? If for the pair, that's a smokin' deal, considering that the Arnotts are about $300 each for the non-electronically-controlled shocks. (Haven't priced the electronically-controlled ones as our GL450 doesn't have them.) I'm a big fan of Bilsteins--have them on my '94 Caprice wagon and factory-installed on my '04 Mustang Cobra.

It is $585 each which is still cheaper than Arnott for the airmatic shock at $699 on Pelican Parts. These are for the GL with active air suspension.

Yes, the rebuilt shocks are completely stripped down to its core components, tested extensively to make sure they can be rebuilt. We do recharge them and put new fluid & the bags are also new.
You will not loose any functionality in regards to sport or comfort because it is rebuilt. The new ones we offer are non-electronic so they do not use those functions.

Why did You Choose Bilstien Over Arnott? Also do your Car Has ADS Function?
based on my conversation with Pelican rep., Bilstein was highly recommended over Arnott, plus can’t go wrong with German OEM. On Pelican website Bilstein is cheaper than Arnott and I preferred new shock assembly over rebuilt. My GL550 has ADS function.

most people go with Arnott Because of the Lifetime Warranty
Arnott Remand Will Cost $713.17 Shipped After $200 Core Returned but will cost an additional about $50-$60 Core Shipping Charges i guess its only like 60 Bucks Difference Of buying the New Bilstein
not sure what route to go.. lifetime warranty sounds good never know when these things can fail..

I just spent $1k for two front remanufactured Arnott w/ADS shocks, (GL550 2008 143K miles)... includes $200 core charge... they are cheaper... and im going for the lifetime warranty...I will also be installing them myself... I plan on owning this rig forever....ha
yes i ended up going the Arnott Route as well received them Yesterday and will be installing them tonight! cant beat $713.00 a pair with lifetime warranty
Replaced Both Front Strut With Arnott AS-2450 Took me 3 Hours also replaced the Sway Bar Endlinks.. the reason for my replacement: i was getting A Rattling/Knock from the right Side when driving
since i replaced both strut the noise is gone and the car runs Great!
