Advice on GL350 Bluetec
Hello everybody!
I am a new member here, but I have been always reading interesting materials on mbworld.org
I am living in Europe (Poland) and owning W210 E220 CDI, what is more, all the maintenances of it I've done myself, since the purchase. My previous car was a diesel engine as well (W204 C220 CDI), I'm kind of a fan of OM diesel engines. Recently, I 've been thinking about buying a slightly damaged X164 GL350 Bluetec from Copart. As you know, when the car is such old (year 2001), you need to take care of it all the time. No wonder, I got already used to diesel engines and for this reason I am considering the choice GL350 Bluetec over GL450. Could you let me know if GL350 has any chronical issues ? Is GL350 worth buying ? Is OM642 a reliable engine or problematic?
Greetings from Poland

Just look at the topic right below this one and it should give you the answer. Spend another 10 minutes looking at topics below that one and it should leave no doubt as to the direction you should take.

So I am gonna ask next question
Is it 155KW (208HP) ? Do you recommend any chip tuning box? Yesterday I asked the price of Kleemann KD-Box, they told me that, it will cost around 900 Euro.

These have so many issues and it's a living nightmare! But, if you do want to do this you need to delete a lot emissions equipment ASAP.

Polish and more importantly all European diesels are fine!
Although the Urea tank and heater are universal problems.

I have had several since the BlueTec introduction, including an ML 350 and GL 350 now. All with zero issues!
Regards to all!
