anybody?

Yes, there is a Mercedes service bulletin about this.

The solution is to replace the current motor with a new one.

The bulletin is LI88.70-P-050725 and I don't appear to have an electronic copy.

Mine has options 249 (auto dimming) and 275 (memory) and part numbers are 164 810 15 93 and 164 810 12 93 left and right.

It will chew the paint on your door so don't wait to fix.

Is it warrantied where they pay for it? If not how much did it cost?

If you are really good with touch up paint, you can make it look OK.

when you talk about the options are you referring to the whole mirror part of the mirror or the frame that moves on the inside?

My glass and outside housing are still good and in tact.

lkchris 01-23-2019 08:05 PM

correct, just the motor mechanism

Mikchek 09-07-2019 03:08 PM

just an update on this I got the car painted and after it came back the mirror worked perfect....for about a month...now its clapping again. I don't understand why it stopped and not it's starting again.
