Air suspension Malfunction error
Hi,
For the last couple of weeks, I am getting a message on my 2012 GL450 with a SUV sign up arrow and text Malfunction. But all 4 of my suspensions are normal height. I get this message seems to be 30mins into a drive each time. It is in white text and you can click out of it from the wheel left and right button. It is only a Message. I had front and rear air structs replaced with OEM parts only 6 months ago at dealer. Any suggestion on what could be the issue and if it is urgent? Thank you so much!

Could be a lot of things but I would only be guessing.
If you got it fixed at the dealer you have a 2 year warranty on repairs.
I would tell them to sort it. You spent a lot of money there.
I would look for burned out or cracked compressor and Stuck leveling rods

If you are not close to a dealer, find an auto parts store with a code reader. That should give you a little better idea of precisely which part(s) are creating the message.

I had this recently and read the codes. It was a failing air compressor. I believe the error was 5503 which essentially said that the compressor was unable to fill the reservoir (i.e. the air tank in the back.)
A replacement compressor from Arnott was about $280 and cleared the message. I'm lucky enough to have a nice diagnostic tool because this is not a generic OBD code, it is Mercedes specific.

Hi, thank you for your response and apologize for the slow response. My local shop told me they would use Arnott and would be around $750 for total cost. Would you mind sharing why you went with Arnott compressor vs. OEM? My OEM lasted me now 7 years and now started to fail looks like.
