GCVWR of 2014 gl450?

I want to tow and cant find this number listed anywhere. I contacted MB and they said that there is not a GCVWR given. However, nobody that I have talked to by calling corporate or at the dealership has had ANY idea what I was talking about when I started talking about towing. If there is no value provided by MB, I will just assume that it is the GVWR + TWR.

Also wondering if the 1245lb for all passengers and cargo listed on the door is separate from the allowable tongue weight? Because this payload doesnt make sense when the curb weight is 5400 and the GVWR is 7100.

Id be happy to hear about any towing experiences with the GL! Thanks!

7500 lbs towing capacity
7165 lbs gross vehicle weight
14,665 lbs gross combination weight

Above information from Google.

The proper terminology is gross combination weight, or GCW. This is most often used with commercial vehicles. The GL is not a commercial vehicle and it does not surprise me that MB is feigning ignorance.

The weights are “all in” which means it doesn’t matter if you have 14,665 lbs of feathers or of lead, or people, in the vehicle + towed device.

Minor correction, as simply adding up tow rating and GVWR double counts trailer tongue weight (which is part of GVWR). Assuming tongue weight is 600#, deducting 600# from tow rating, gives 7165 + 6900 = 14065 GCVWR.
