Hand Engraved Muffler
Found a strange occurrence today while attempting to change rear speed sensors. One of my mufflers has machine engraved information and the other is hand engraved. I find this odd, as the exhaust is all original. Has anyone else noticed this on their vehicle? Thanks.

NGL450 w/EORP, S550
Maybe Emcon’s machine engraver was broken the day your one muffler went through the line.

Happens all the time in aerospace and is acceptable as long as the fit, form or function of the end item is not affected.

That’s actually a decent part marking job by hand, especially with an engraver.

Thank you all.

I wasn’t questioning the authenticity of the muffler, I just found it funny one was engraved nicely and the other by hand. I guess that means we have a “custom” GL350.

I too agree the engraving was fairly good for a hand tool.
