Winter tires and wheels for GL550?

Hi all,
First time poster here.

Just got a 2015 GL550 CPO that came with the OEM tires. I am looking to buy a dedicated set of winter wheels/tires as the OEMs were pretty poor when I tested them on light snow last week. Looking at TireRack the 20" size options are either 275/50/20 & 295/45/20 and only Pirelli Scorpion Winter as a tire option. What winter tires brand/size do you have for your 550s and where did you get your wheels from? I looked on Ebay, but there are mostly replicas (for new) and honestly I never bought one so not sure how the quality would be.

Thanks

I went with these GLS rims (mainly due to price):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/20-MERCEDES...53.m1438.l2649

Then I went with $172ea Continental WinterContact SI in 265/50/20.

Is that $599 price for 1 rim or all 4?

$150 per wheel? That's one of those things that to good to be true and something I'd be very cautious of running on car I'd be driving.

I run an OZ wheel with Bliaks DMV's in a 275/45/20 size. Bought from a member here but it is the package from Tire Rack.

I was / still am cautious. Before I purchased, I called them to ask for more details. They claim they are 100% OEM Mercedes rims. Never mounted on a vehicle. Never refinished. Brand new. I took the risk and bought them. They have what I believe are the correct marking and Mercedes part numbers on the inside of the rims. I see no evidence of weld marks or refinish.

They have only been on the car for a few weeks but so far I am happy with them.

Funny, I was just about to purchase the same set 2 days ago. My buddy said it's a reputable store, he lives in Detroit. So the 265's fit ok and do you have pics?

Thats good to hear. They specialize in refurbishing damaged rims so I was weary that these were truly brand new. If you search enough around of the web, you can find bad reviews but that is true of most places. Most of the bad reviews ended with the customer getting their issues resolved to their satisfaction after some hassle.

265 fit just fine. No fitment issues. No scrubbing. The GL350 is the wife’s car. I only have one crappy picture on my phone (it was towed to a friend’s barn and getting blasted with heat since the diesel gelled and it wouldn’t start)

Did you ask them if they would sell you the same tires for the same or better price and mount & balance them on those wheels?

No... it didn't occur to me that they would sell tires too. Good thinking, definitely worth a try.
