Questions for accessories
Hi,
I finally picked up my GL 450 2015 on Saturday. Does it really need 91 Octane gas? Ouch
What are the best cross bars for roof rack?
Are there any other options for keys than the dealer? Seeing mixed answers on searches. Dealer is saying $447 for key + $189 programming
What other accessories do I want?
Does the 2015 need the resistor for the LED trailer lights?
Best floor mats for front, it only has the carpet ones, kids and dogs destroy. Weather tech?
Where can I find the cargo covers that cover the whole area? Pic is why.

91 at least. High compression turbo engine. Driving on cheap gas not worth it because cheaper gas - lower miles + engine wear.
Original crossbars are the best. Key at dealer only option since it is programming.
Some LED has resistor build in. Some not. If no message come no need for resistor.
I have weather tek kind mats like it a lot (like pans keeping water and dirt all together)

My dog (100 lbs rhodesian ridgeback) didn't like the Mercedes branded rear cargo mat. Its raised squares are meant to keep things from sliding around, but are not comfortable for dogs' elbows, so it was next to impossible to get my dog to stay down. The Weathertech version that I have now is much more comfortable for him.
Crossbars - I have the factory ones and they are fine. It is actually made by Thule. Wide enough for 2 kayaks on racks, even 3 if you get creative. Probably the least expensive option if you shop around (I think I bought mine for under $200 from a MB dealer on ebay). If you need wider, look for the crossbars that extend past the roof rails, like those from Thule or Yakima.

Yes premium.
Thule roof bars. Wingbar EVO are what I use.
Yes that's the price for a key fob + programming.
No resistor required for LED trailer lights.
WeatherTech mats.
