lower GL 550 Airmatic

Can my dealer lower my GL 550? It came standard with Adaptive damping. The dealer Kept telling me that this car has everything to handle mountain roads. I regret that I did not wait few months to special order the car with Active Curve. Now on winding roads I feel I need more stability.

it lowers itself when you engage sport mode- i too did not get active curve as I think that in a vehicle this size- not sure how much of a difference it really makes- probably better with a non-suv (coupe or sedan)

Thanks

On the freeway I put on comfort but on winding roads sport is the only option. I once put on comfort going down the mountain and got sick. I heard they are able lower the starting height. Then like you said it will go up in comfort and lower in sport. Not sure if they will do it. My friend is suggesting to complaint about stability and they may do it in the Star software.

Or lowering links, which is the cheapest option.

Anyone among GL owners here tried Lowering Links? Looks good on that black ML63.
I assume sport/comfort level button will not work right?

You should be able to retain factory settings, the links just trick the system into thinking it's at regular height, even though it sits lower with the links installed. you should still be able to use sport/comfort mode.

Good news! But I guess no more dealership visits for service not to void warranty right ?
