ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM

Is the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM worth the purchase without the On/Off-Road Package?

Those 450 owners without the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM, do you regret not purchasing it?

Don't know if there is any performance relationship between Active Curve and Off Road, but I road tested GL550 with & without Active Curve and there is a significant difference in handling. Wouldn't have bought GL if Active Curve had not been available-too "floaty".

BTW, I have Off Road and given recent weather in NE, it has been extremely good even with OEM 21" tires.

One of the must have options. Definitely night and day difference in handling compared to an X166 without the ACS.

I don't have the ACS or the ADS system, and I was afraid to test drive one with that option since I didn't want it to become a must-have option once I experienced it.

The GL450 w/o it is "floaty", sometimes I do regret not getting it on local drives, but then the $3500+ saved brings a bit of comfort :)

After reading the suggestions on this forum, I ordered mine with ACS. It handles turns and curves with almost no movement side-to-side. I saw no need to order the Off Road Package, but I almost never take my vehicle off of pavement. I'm very happy with my choice.

Good choice. I too had to choose between a non-ACS car with other frills such as heated steering wheel and power second row entry, etc. I chose the ACS which will be used all the time as opposed to options used occasionally.

Do some search. You'll find some good answers.
Would never buy another MB SUV without it.
I love to drive like many of us here and it's a difference that can be felt, especially on a big car like the GL. Even my wife notices the difference.
If you're not that specific about handling, don't get it. You'll never know the difference.

Thanks guys. It looks like ASC is a must.:y
