Rotary Light Switch

Is it not illuminated? I might be new to MB but all the cars I have owned have these small icons around it illuminated. Please tell me my light switch is broken ... :wwf:

Except for a tick mark on the knob, my light switch is not illuminate.

It is probably one of the most useful things to be illuminated. Alas!
I'm on mb#5 and none lit up.

I just don't get it. What's the thought behind this???

I have a 2014 X166 550. Have never even looked at light switch. Left on center position and it takes care of itself as a self driving car should.

I agree it should be lit up. However you never really need to turn it because the lights are automatic and even if you turn it at night the lights don't go off. Kind of brings up the point of why have the switch to start with?

I have no gripes that it's not illuminated - I set it to auto and forget about it. It's a switch that you seldom need to adjust. My Land Rovers never had it either. Maybe I'm missing the point?
