Hidden Features!!!!

Some cars have hidden features. What are the hidden features with the GL?

jbattan 05-12-2016 07:04 AM

Completely hidden are the body squeaks that the GL will pick up after 30,000 miles of use. That and the excessive maintenance and repair costs after the warranty ends.
:)

My Audi S6 had a bunch of them. One of the moderators posted a list and it would be cool to see a list, if any, for the GL

Ha buy the ELW and pre-paid maintenance, that's what I did and I'm worry free.

He said hidden. Those are all well known "features".

Maybe I'll start to keep this thread on track....

Some might not consider this a hidden feature but its a cool one....

The "HOLD" function. If you push down on the brake a second time, it holds the brakes and you can remove your foot from the pedal.

If you have the push button start. The cap can be pulled out and the key can be inserted.

This works on the E-Class but does it work on the GL/GLS ....

If your windows and sunroof are open you can hold the recycle air button in, all glass closes. Hold the recycle air button in again and all glass goes back to original position before closing

Good to know!

If you tap the blinker it will blink 3 times. I find myself using this a lot, as it's so much nicer than having to click the thing down, then click it back up after you're in your lane.

The hold feature with double tap on the brake is my favorite feature on the car.

Hold door lock button on remote while close to car to close windows/sunroof. Open lock button opens them.

Also, lock button when walking away folds the side mirrors in so they don't get clipped

Those that don't read the manual and may not be aware, this is from the manual...
  • Releasing electric parking brake automatically
    • The electric parking brake is released automatically when all of the following conditions are fulfilled:
      • the engine is running.
      • the transmission is in position D or R.
      • the seat belt has been fastened.
      • you depress the accelerator pedal.
If the transmission is in position R, the trunk lid must be closed.
If your seat belt is not fastened, the following conditions must be fulfilled to automatically release the electric parking brake:
  •
    • the driver's door is closed.
    • you have shifted out of transmission position P or you have previously driven faster than 2 mph (3 km/h).

*Ensure that you do not depress the accelerator pedal unintentionally. Otherwise the parking brake will be released and the vehicle will start to move.
