2013 -- 34,670 miles for $43,695
This one has more features than the other one
MSRP is $82,310

Carfax 'looks' clean to me...

2014 -- 60,457 miles for $44,395
MSRP $77,660
https://www.autoipacket.com/packet-s...DF7CE9EA322889
Definitely the 2013 is much better deal. Price difference is due to the year difference. 2014 vs 2013. Has all the necessary packages in addition to distronic plus and active lane keeping assist. Only thing missing is the leather seats and active drive (active drive is quite rare and hard to find).

In fact the 2013 has longer warranty coz the in service date is Jan 2014 vs Oct 2013 for the 2014.

Do you think people weigh 2013 vs 2014 that much..especially when you don't have a major upgrade in 2014?

Also, when I look again and again and again...I noticed that the Carfax report on the 2013 has its 1st report on 01/03/2014 -- Vehicle offered for sale and mileage = 7,939 mi

How can that happen?

Most likely a service loaner or demo vehicle. Nothing beats a test drive

The 2014 has too many miles to be a CPO. Why even look at it?

I am not interested in that 2014 but wondering what's wrong with that 2013...it has got all the features I am looking for and priced very good

I want to go test drive it but its a 1000 miles away...would like to find out whats wrong with that...if not, I am happy to go and get it

I don't see anything wrong with it. Have you tried calling and asking? Ask for the VMI (vehicle master inquiry). A CPO with ~30k miles shouldn't have anything wrong with it. The Brooklyn MB Dealer seems to have good reviews on google as well.

I bought a BMW just like this. It was a CPO with 32k miles. Negotiated over the phone, bought a one way flight to Tampa, FL and drove it home. The car was in perfect condition.

How do you like this one?

http://www.keyesmercedes.com/invento...ss-Van-Nuys-CA

2013 GL550
31k miles for $53k

Cinnabar Red
Auburn Burn w/Satin Ash trim

Parking Assist Package
Active Curve System
Night View Assist
Bang & Olufsen Sound System
Rear Seat Entertainment
Heated Rear Seats
Driver Assistance Package

MSRP 105k

It has pretty much every feature that a GL550 offers...

The only thing I did not like is the color combination

UPDATE:
Just got the VMI from the dealer...
There were no accidents reported but lots of things replaced (even the air bags)...Please take a look and let me know if there is anything alarming about it

2014 GL450
I would totally buy this. Exterior color is not my fav but at least you will stand out in the crowd of the usual silver, white or black exterior color which is about all the GL/GLS around me are.

Vehicle has been sitting there for 2 months. I'm sure the price is reflecting that as well. 3 dealers around me want $58-60k just for a 2014 GL450 forcing me to drive 1.5 hrs away to get a decent deal. Last Aug when I was looking, the best deal I found for a 2013 GL550 was $55k and that was 4 hrs drive away.

A gaggle of MB's
I understand you are getting familiar with Mercedes Certified Program - but you need to know not all Mercedes dealers have equal levels of integrity.

VMi shows - Check Status Mileage Discrepancy - and that comment is a exception that you would not normally see on 95% of any MB's on the road. Consider that your 1st flag.

VMI shows the "extensive" miscellaneous shop repair work - I have never seen driver's GL 2nd gen airbag replacement under warranty + such misc door locks + window switches - that's not normal - call that 2nd/3rd flag.

https://www.edmunds.com/dealerships/...reatedate-desc

I would run away.. not walk, not talk, run....

Wow..Thanks for that!

When I talked to them, they told me that the air bags were replaced because of a recall

Let me suggest - your "choice pool" widens/deepens quite a bit - if you drop focus on Rear-Entertainment.

My opinion - your a Wisconsin guy - and there is no reason to reach out to Los Angeles for this particular rig - sure - interesting color combo is nice - even with that the price isn't "great" - and it's all a bit messy on this one - don't you think ?

Sure - you've caught the GL "virus" - and that's exciting - but in the end you want something clean and solid !

I am willing to drop the rear seat entertainment only if the rest of the deal is great!

YES, I have got the GL bug, and now after going through all the details, I guess I am getting onto the 550 bug

Can you please check the following listing?

Its a 2013 GL550 with 49.5k miles for $49.5k
https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/cpo/i...DF7DE2DA224655
MSRP 112k
Carfax report
https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...DF7DE2DA224655

It has...
AMG styling
Parking assist package
designo Black Piano Lacquer Wood Trim
designo Wood/Leather Steering Wheel
designo Porcelain Leather Upholstery
Rear sunshades
Panorama roof
ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM
Night view assist PLUS
Bang & Olufsen sound system
Power easy entry
Rear seat entertainment
Driver assistance package

It doesn't have...
Heated steering wheel
Heated rear seats

It has pretty much everything I want...and more

The only thing I want to make sure is...the carfax does not have regular maintenance listed but the dealer says that the 30k and 40k were done on time and they did the 50k recently before listing this..
I have asked for the VMI and he said he cannot download it..so he cannot send it

Is that something that I should suspect?

@fabbrisd1
Can you PLEASE pull the VMI, if you can?

I don't get it. How is this CPO with 56k miles? Aren't CPO suppose to be still under factory warranty which means less than 4 years / 50k?

I agree, the 2013 550 sounds like a good deal. Low miles, and optioned out. Basically for a few more thousand over a 450/350 you get about $40,000 worth of options. If not CPO, may have to invest in an MB extended warranty if it qualifies.

When vehcile is past 4yr/50K mile new car warranty - CPO can be issued which will be 1yr/unlimited mileage warranty - extendable up to another 2yrs at additional cost.

There is something fishy about the vehicle and the dealer...and that vehicle being certified, I believe not all CPOs are trust worthy

The VMI shows there are a lot of things that were replaced, inc airbags...to which the dealer responded that it was recalled along with many other similar vehicles...

I tried to pull the recall information on that VIN and found out there were no recalls

My mistake. It must be another manuf then that a certified vehicle must be still within the warranty period. I found a reference to MB CPO and it says vehicle must be 6 years / 75k miles or under to qualify. So I guess this 2013 example with the 56k miles will definitely qualify.

Need your thoughts about the below CPO vehicles...Please

1. 2013 GL550 with 48.4k miles - Asking price $47,900 (reduced from $50K)
In the market since Dec 2016.
MSRP $96.6K
Iridium Silver & Gray Leather

Options...
Active Curve System
Rear Seat Entertainment
Park Assist Pkg
Driver Assistance Pkg
Trailer Hitch
Heated Rear Seats

PFA the VMI

Warranty start date - 7/19/2013 (no big deal as only 1600 miles left for the warranty to void)

2. 2014 GL550 with 49.4K miles - Asking price $56,750 (increased from $56K)
Recently listed...a couple of weeks back
MSRP $101.5K
Palladium Silver & Auburn Brown/Black Leather

Options...
Active Curve System
Rear Seat Entertainment
Park Assist Pkg
Driver Assistance Pkg
Trailer Hitch
Heated Rear Seats
Manual 2nd row sunshades
Panorama Roof (but only for the 2nd row)
On/Off-Road Package
Heated Washer System

PFA the VMI and recent service details

Warranty start date - 10/8/13 (no big deal as only 600 miles left for the warranty to void)

*Cannot test drive as they are 850 and 1100 miles away

Vehicle 2 scores in terms of additional options and I like its colors better than Vehicle 1.
The difference in $$$ seems to be considerable enough as well

Please take a look at the VMI to see if there is anything to worry about.

Thank you for your thoughts!

I vote (2) for the 550. That setup is quite close to mine including price and miles. However, I think there is room to negotiate it down to 55K. 56K is the absolute most I will pay for it if it has everything you want. Finding one with exactly what you want is indeed quite difficult.
