40k Service B

I had a quote of $758 for Service B @ 40,000 miles on my 2015 GL 350. Interested in what others are paying. BTW, this doesn't include tire rotation.

Consider a 3-[ack prepaid service - if your planning to "keep" next 3yrs/30K miles might save you some dollars..

I would suggest you follow the schedule in the owners manual, not the computer prompts. I have a suspicion, confirmed by service reps at the MB dealer, that the Service-xx thing is intended to drive up maintenance sales and nothing else. I brought my ML to Germany and the mech I use now said the same thing -- their references mention nothing of lettered services, just by KM's.

2014 GL350
The max I paid for a Service B including tire rotation and adblue fill is $450. I have 80K miles on my 2014 GL350. I bought it new and have been going to the same dealer where I bought it. The max I paid for Service A was like $250-$275.

I'm looking at $419 plus $170 for the fuel filter change. I'm going to top off with DEF adblue before I take it so they don't hit me with that crazy MB DEF fee.

Dropped off the GL this morning. Ended up @ $724 tax incl. for complete 40k Service B including fuel filter, particle filter, cabin filter, ad blue DEF and tire rotation.
As a side note I have a E300 loaner. Was curious to see how the 4 cyl. turbo performs and it's surprisingly peppy. However the sound of the 4 cyl. is what you'd expect.......unremarkable to say the least. Ladies and gentlemen......sadly, the days of the V-8 are numbered.

Just curious, why didn't you opt for a service pack? From what I'm seeing, even if you don't get much of a discount, you'll still see some savings. Maybe like, pay for 2, get 3.

For any of you who is wondering what Service A / service B means...
I was in the same boat before pulling this from a dealer's website

Let me know if this is not correct!

Service A
The A Service first visit is at approximately 10,000 miles or 1 year. The exact time is determined by the vehicle's Flexible Service System.

Then it is approximately every 20,000 miles or 2 years. This is for model year 2009 and newer.

Services Performed:
1. Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
2. Oil Filter Replacement
3. All Fluid Level Checks & Corrections Are Dependent On Factory-Recommended Service Intervals For Your Vehicle's Year & Model
4. Tire Inflation Check & Correction
5. Brake Component Inspection
6. Reset Maintenance Counter

Service B
The B Service first visit is at approximately 20,000 miles or 1 year after the previous service. The exact time is determined by the vehicle's Flexible Service System.

Then it is typically every 20,000 miles or 2 years (approximately). This is for model year 2009 and newer.

Services Performed:
1. Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
2. Oil Filter Replacement
3. Cabin Dust/Combination Filter Replacement
4. Brake Fluid Exchange
5. All Fluid Level Checks & Corrections Are Dependent On Factory-Recommended Service Intervals For Your Vehicle's Year & Model.
6. Tire Inflation Check & Correction
7. Brake Component Inspection
8. Reset Maintenance Counter

Not if you'd consider a 2018 Durango SRT AWD with a 475 hp Hemi. Saw a video of it doing a 4 wheel burnout. Rumored to cost about $70k

In hindsight I should have purchased the 3-pack when I bought the car. As of now I have about 10k miles of factory warranty remaining. I'll most likely trade the car in the fall of this year. I'm hoping the Q7 diesel variant is available in the US by then. If not, I'll buy the gasser.
