High mileage gl550. Worth a chance?

Posted this on wrong (g class) forum earlier.
2014 GL550-worth a chance?
Local dealer has a cpo gl550 with 70k on the clock. Looks to be in good condition. I would buy an additional 2 years past the cpo but would probably keep it more than 3 years. How reliable is the m278 and how big a risk am i running for major $$$ if i keep it another 75-100000 miles?

Mine has 60K and is running like a top. The front camera has become inoperative a couple times, but has resolved itself. In general, MBs are fairly reliable, even though the Consumer Reports GL surveys show otherwise. Repairs are very expensive.

A gaggle of MB's
As a "fresher" generation too soon to tell high mileage reliability - as you say - cover yourself with total 3yrs CPO warranty - and make your decision based on your experience/enjoyment at that point down the road

2021 GLS580 all black. 2014 GLK black (kids car). formerly: 2014 GL550 Palladium Silver (US)
I have a '14 550 GL with nearly 80k miles. I've had very few problems. I do have a 125k mile warranty I bought shortly after I purchased.
In comparison, my prior X5 was in the shop a lot.

I think with 1 exception, I've only been in for regular service. The exception was the rotor issue on new cars and I looked at that as a bonus 20k mile brake life.

I am looking to trade up, but not because of problems.

Thanks all. Pulled the trigger on it. Although 70k miles was dealer maintained and local owner. Got the dealer to throw in 2 years of additional warranty post cpo. Car rides like a dream and i really like the distronic and 360 camera.
