Our first GL!

Just pulled the trigger on 2015 CPO GL 450. Have been lurking on the forum for 6+ months, and ultimately convinced the wife to go with this truck over a new Nissan Armada platinum. I have owned well over 10 BMWs over the years, but my wife has mostly owned Japanese SUVs. I am really excited about the purchase, especially given how well optioned this example is. I will be purchasing the extended CPO warranty from Jeff Jackson at Tefel, and my plan is to find the right set of 22s ASAP. I would not have made this purchase without the wealth of info on this forum, so thank you! I look forward to being a member of the community.

The details.

Congrats! Great looking SUV. We've been looking for something similar. Do you mind sharing what you paid for the GL and what the CPO extended warranty cost? Thanks!

Thanks!

$49K OTD including shipping from FL to NC. This is more than I wanted to spend, but given the color combination and options, I wasn't confident that I would find one like this anytime soon. (Bang & Olufsen and black headliner, in particular.) I have been quoted a price of $2600 for extended CPO (2 years).

That's not a bad price. I've seen many with far fewer options go for close to $50k before TTL.

We're keeping our eyes out, it's hard to find one with all the options we want.
Lighting package
tow hitch
running board
3rd row AC
H/K or B/O sound
2nd row blinds (very hard to find)

We're on the west coast, saw one on the east coast that had all the options we wanted. Was going to book a flight to see it/pick it up and drive it home, but it was sold the day before our flight.

Your GL looks great! Does the light colored seats get denim stains?

I don't see any extra wear due to denim. It's not Designo interior, so wear and tear on the leather should be OK.

Nice!

Very nice looking GL. I really love the wood trim on your GL. I tired looking for one in black leather but it’s really hard to find, I'm not sure why, it’s really nice wood trim, people have to see it in person to really appreciate it (in my opinion). May I ask where in Florida did you find your GL?
Congrats!!

other than exterior and interior color, our GLs seem to be identical. Same options, mileage, month of purchase. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with you to compare how our GLs fare over time!

Nice, congrats on yours! The only thing I am bummed about is no heated steering wheel. Wondering how hard it would be to retrofit.

No heated steering wheel here either but I can't say I am a big fan (I tried it on another car and it kinda burns my hands!). It also took me a month to realize the star illuminates!

Yes, you can have the lit star on vehicles without Distronic Plus. If you have the wood steering wheel, then heated is not an option. The cost to switch to a heated wheel, along with the wiring and new controller would not be cost feasible for such a minor change.
