Bang and Olufsen no bang......

Have the B and O in my GLS. Must say that I’m not at all impressed or something is not functioning well. Highs are good. Bass is muddy and no low range at all. Does the system even have subs? Eclectic taste in music and seems to be in all genres. Should I have the dealer take a look?

Not sure how helpful the dealer will be when it comes to sound quality. Have you played with the B&O settings? You can adjust treble, bass and sound location. Has this been the case or just recently? Maybe you have some blown speakers.

Navitimer. Sounds like a Breitling watch. Thanks. I've played and played and played. Nothing really lives up to the hype. Maybe it's because I'm streaming through Bluetooth?

Yep, I do enjoy the Navitimer utilitarian designs. As for the B&O, it sounds like you did your homework (no pun intended). I also stream via Bluetooth, in my honest option, the B&O shines in higher levels comparing to the Harman Kardon. I have a CLS63 with the HK and it sounds a tad better in the lows but not as good in the highs. My taste in music is also mixed, some songs do sound a little crackle which throws me off.

Are you still under warranty? If so, take it to the dealer and see if they can replace the speakers, I doubt they have an oscilloscope to capture the sound distortions.

I have B&O in an ML550 - I've noticed about two or three times (over a 3 year period) the amp or the rear-sub will not initialize correctly. The result was the bass only came from my cabin door speakers and it sounded muddy. I powered it down and back up manually and the full range of bass / clarity returned. Not sure why it happens. The bass sounds clear and crisp when all is working well.

Maybe try a bass heavy song, switch the B&O setting to rear speakers only, and listen for the rear sub on the left rear next to the tailgate. If it's not firing, something may be up with your amp or the sub itself.

I listen to a lot of R&B, and I leave the bass setting at +2 - which is pretty low for a guy like me. I really enjoy the system - sounds like something may not be working correctly for yours.

So I am currently at the end of my lease with my 2015 Mercedes GL 63 with Bang & Olufsen and I can honestly say it’s the best car sound system I’ve ever heard. Plenty of everything (bass, mids and highs) so I don’t think yours is functioning correctly. What make the difference though, comparing it to other systems, is that it’s not harsh on your ears. Hear me out, I can play it at full volume and my ears are fine, but in my recently purchased GLS 63 with harman Kardon, I can’t. My ears hurt. So I can say with confidence that the B&O system is well worth the money.

Careful on your volume, if your ears hurt, you are damaging the "hairs". Once they go, they don't come back and you slowly go deaf.

Mines have a sub in the rear trunk.

A gaggle of MB's
"Many" MB owner's are Not-Happy with the B&O system - which is being phased out going forward.

In SUV's - the B&O delivers owner's "disappointing bass" - when owner's want to "Rock the Block" the B&O just can't deliver to expectation.

The B&O is a very "clean system" - and will give surprising sound levels with great separation and imaging - but mid-bass/bass are lacking to the US ear.

I agree with this. I love my B&O - it looks great and very clear at all volumes. The only thing that is missing that is an easy fix is an additional sub-woofer, I haven't found a need to do that mod yet though - I'm happy enough with it.
