275/50 vs. 275/55 - Science Thoughts?

Besides the additional tire choices, any scientific/physics perspectives on going to the 55? All things being equal: Ride comfort with additional "cushion" in extra rubber? Ride stability in the additional Height? Car handling? Currently have the Pirelli 50s on my 2013 GL450 4matic here ... thanks

Per Discount Tire, these are the best deal for the GL450 with 20" wheels. More importantly, since these have XL rating vs the standard one of the factory 275/50/20, they will reduce the infamous GL450 body sway a bit and offer more traction due to the tire being slightly wider. They are so much cheaper because the factory size was made for MB only.

It does make the GL slightly taller.

Hi thanks for the reply, unfortunately the link you provided sent me directly to the home "start" default page so not sure which specific tire you are referring to ... thanks :-(
