na looking to buy
2013 Gl550 rear schock

I know nolagl550 posted a great how to replace the rear schocks on this vehicle...however I am not that mechanically inclinded and do not have the requried tools. My question for the board is: would you reccomend using an independent mechanic for this and for a mechanic is this an "easy" job? The dealer told my rear drivers side is leaking and should be repalced at some point; with a bill of $2400 (1.5 hours of labor and $1989 for the part). Any suggestion on where to buy the part, if I should stay with MB part and any helpful hints are appreciated.

Thank you

I'm also not mechanically inclined or have the required tools, I would approach this issue with a reputable independent mechanic and finding the parts online. https://www.getmercedesparts.com, https://www.mbonlineparts.com or ebay are excellent sources for OEM parts. I would stick with OEM parts since you know what you're getting and take them to that reputable indy.

Not sure on what others would suggest but it’s just my 2 cents.

Keep us posted.
Best of luck.

I agree with NaviTimer 100% on the parts sources and using the Indy shop. Best of luck!
