Engine Swap
I posted to another thread about an x164 swap, I hope no one is offended.

I have '14 gl 450, 278928 engine, that needs replacing.

It appears the S550 and CL 550 engines are appropriate replacements, perhaps with swapping the oil pan. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Or, can point me towards a more technical site or manual that would lend some clarity on this?

Or, if anyone has a line on a GL450 engine on the east coast, or good yard to call.

E55, GLS450, GL63, GLE350
Same year, same engine. Will probably need to swap the oil pan and oil pickup. Go for broke and put a 63 engine in there.

How much more work is that? Software? Same trans?

I think an ECU tune would be all you need but the AMG engines are more expensive.
