2013 GL 550

I am looking at a used 2013 GL 550 with 60k miles on it. Any issues I should be looking out for? I am concerned that this could turn into a maintenance nightmare. How have others experiences been with the 2013 around the 60k mileage range? Thanks for the help.

Get the full service history on the truck. If the 60k service has already been completed (which includes spark plugs), that is a good bonus. If you buy a well maintained and loved truck, you should be good to go. I bought mine with 40k 18 months ago and am currently at 53k. The only things I have done are front brakes and an oil change (knock on wood). This thing has been great so far. I do have a warranty on it, but so far it hasn't needed any warranty repairs.

I have done some additional items to it, such as a full paint correction and 5+ year ceramic coating. I also purchased a tune from OE Tuning that gives me more power and is now faster than a GL63....for under $1k.

I still have the original spark plugs and OEM filters. There's no need to swap them for aftermarket parts.

2013 GL550
I'm probably not a good example since I've only put 5k miles on it, but I purchased my 2013 550 with 65k miles to start and overall, it's in great condition. The dealer did have to replace both rear airbags (before I purchased), but other than that, it's in great shape. You can tell it's been well cared for and I think regular documented maintenance is one of the most important things to look for. The only thing I didn't check carefully was the tires - which were near end-of-life. The fronts tend to wear unevenly (inside to out) due to the negative camber. I could have gotten 5k more out of them, but I bit the bullet and purchased new Michelins (not cheap) so I wouldn't have to worry about it. It's a blast to drive every time I get in

A gaggle of MB's
Buy 2yrs/20K miles Mercedes Prepaid Service - get 60K done incl spark plugs - and have prepaid 70K service - cheapest way to have legitimate dealer service covers all recommended items for each mileage interval
