P24AF code (w/MEL ON) on 2014 GL350 Bluetec
So I got MEL with tripled code of P24AF. That's my wife' SUV which is due for annual inspection so kind of urgent

If cleared, the code comes back every 10-20 miles. The drivability is not so good but no limp mode at least.
I followed my good friend advice (car mechanic but not MB one) and replaced the DPF differential pressure sensor which is located under the hoot on passenger side, but that was waste of time, the DTC code is still there.
It seems the root cause is so called soot sensor also known as PM (diesel particulate matter sensor) so I am planning on replacing it. I found plenty of these sensors on eBay, Amazon and even Walmart.
It seems the correct p/n is this one:
Diesel Exhaust Particulate Sensor - Mercedes-Benz (0009051008)
What I could not find is, where this sensor is located at.There is no diagram nor a picture on Google that could show the definite position of this sensor. I looked under the car and logically it should be the last sensor in the exhaust pipe (the downstream one) but I am not sure if that's the one that I am targeting to.
Also I found out that on the same location there could be a downstream NOx sensor which is not the same and the code I have has nothing to do with NOx sensors.
Could anyone confirm the exact location of the PM (soot) sensor on this vehicle?
Here is the VIN: 4JGDF2********* and model details: 2014 GL350 Bluetec (OM642 engine).
Also if anyone experienced the same problem (MEL with P24AF DTC code) and found a fix please share your experience. Maybe I am looking at the wrong sensor.
Thanks!

FYI, Mercedes has a diesel emissions settlement with the EPA and DOJ. They are required to upgrade a bunch of emissions equipment on the SUV and provide a new extended warranty for the truck.
The PM sensor is specifically covered by the extended warranty. Call your dealer and schedule the upgrade work and your PM sensor will be taken care of as part of the upgrade as they are repairing any covered components as part of the work.
Also, there is separate, but related class action settlement for the entire fiasco. Sign up and collect your check (the amount varies depending if you are the original owner or not.)

And if the work has already been completed and you are not eligible for a check, you are still covered by the new extended warranty,

That is amazing information, thank you very much! Got the vehicle scheduled for AEM appointment with the local dealer, will keep you posted. Thanks again, very much appreciated!

i Just started my recall procedure. First step was the initial recall on diesel emissions. Two weeks ago had another code regarding failure in one then all four injectors. Had (all six) them replaced under the other other campaign class action recall. No out of pocket expense so far. Concerned about timing chain but has not been clattering since the fuel injection system ( injectors) was replaced.
On my side I am still waiting for my appointment. Had to cancel my visit to the first dealership since I got not the best experience dealing with it at the first place. They moved my appointment twice due to limited loaner car availability. The second time that pushed me back I got out of the waiting line and found another dealer. They confirmed there is no extra cost for this emission upgrade and this is the only news I have so far.
Cheers,
V.
