B009587 fault SRS light on

Hi guys, I left my sunroof open two nights ago and moderate rain poured in the cabin ( I know it is not recommended to do so by MB). Next thing you know, I have SRS message, visit workshop. I used MB2 diagnostic tool and I got current and stored foul number B009587 "please refer to manual", and no fault in database. So I have no idea what is the precise problem. The car is now dry and I can't reset the SRS light because it looks like the fault is still active. Can anyone describe the fault?

Big thanks.

I have 2014 Gl350 diesel.

Typically when you do this it nukes the front SAM. You will need to have the new one programmed for it to work properly.

Little Update, still haven't got the SDS. But I did a few things. I looked at the battery well for water accumulation or damage. Nothing. Tried disconnect the battery since I was there, no change. Tried disconnect and reconnect the yellow coeditors under both front seats, nothing changed. one local shop took a look at the car and found the front crash sensor to be bad. I changed to and did nothing although my MB2 does not read the serial number of the new or the old sensor. Since there was no change, I put back the old sensor and concentrated on something else.

On my MB2, I can read the ignition values. I found out that for the values for R12/11 and R12/12 (left and right rear sidebar squib) were 0 ohms. the same with the K88. I tried to find info on it and found out that these squibs are in rear doors. I opened up the right rear door and saw nothing out of place.

Any suggestions for me ?

Thanks a lot.

BTW, I should be able to get to the dealer in a month from now. The dealer is also 800km from where I live....

Hi AnSimard, did you find the solution to this issue? I have the same with my ML350 2013 W166.

Exact same problem here on my w166 2013 ML350 BT. Changed the front right crash sensor and the red SRS light is still on.

I managed to fix mine. It was caused by a corroded wire.

SRS light will never clear on its own. Has to be cleared with a code reader specifically with SRS scanning capability.
