Hey again, same GL from the previus post has another issue I cannot find any info on. This time the CV axle on the drivers side has a considerable amount of play, enough to cause a good clunk when cold and a thump when hot. inspecting it I found it to have play much like the Toyota bearing recall where the needle bearing wears and causes play, I cannot find any TSBs on the issue and it seems that if customer took it to MB they would simply tell her to replace the Diff.
has anyone experienced this issue? From my experience CVs are made out of some type of hardenned metal that make it unlikely to ever wear and have play, it usually is the output shaft that wears first, I simply dont want to tell the customer to replace her diff as it all seems well for now.
Here is a video showing the issue.
