Brake squeal in cold weather
I was hoping to survey fellow owners in cold weather.
My rear brakes make a very loud squeal when the weather is cold. It only occurs with very light braking when coming to a stop in the parking garage or at a red light.
SA tells me it is “normal”. The lead tech (who I trust) told me last year that it has to do with the brake pads vibrating in the caliper. He added a lubricant that helped for a day.
I am hard pressed to believe that this is “normal” for a car of this caliber/price point.
I would appreciate hearing about others’ experiences. Thanks!

Yes, and I mostly eliminated the squeal (not all but most).
When I got new pads and rotors, I had the pads soaked overnight in stop squeal at the dealership. that has done the trick for over 10k miles so far.
