Seeking some guidance about my new 2021 GLA 250

Hi,

Recently leased a 2021 GLA 250, it didn't come with the Hermes comms module (signed the waiver etc.), anyone know if there are ways to update the Navigation with new data if that's even possible?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for some very minimal MagSafe phone holders that aren't stuck with glue/tape? I did some searches and couldn't find anything that wasn't bulky or required a tape

Is there a way to replace the map in the Navigation screen behind the steering wheel view to be Google Maps instead of the Mercedes app?

New car, new to the forums, I did some searches beforehand, didn't find results that answered the questions so figured I'd ask. If there are other threads here that I can read, that'd be helpful too.

Thanks!

Regarding phone holder, I am using those which can fit into cd slots. The portion which goes to the CD slot you can stick at the back of the LCD panel and push it down so that it fits into the tight space behind the LCD panel and the dash. Mine has a magnet to hold the phone. I love this setup.

You can use apple or android car play for Navi. Though I do not like it but that is the option for those without Navi.

If you travel a lot and do not have Navi then another option is to have a standalone Navi which can be stick on the dash or windscreen.

Nowadays playing with the software is very risky it can break things. I am an IT person and did many DIY on different cars but nowadays DIY scope is bleak when it comes to that new head unit. So best is to have standalone devices. The best head unit I came across is the Honda accord 9th gen ( 2013 through 2017) with Navi it has a dual-screen so that you can have music control on one screen and other displays Navi and when you take Rt turn the blind spot video is displayed on one of the screens. MB infotainment system is not compatitive.

Hope this helps
