Needed new tires

Bought the GLA45 used and the tires needed replacing. I go Tirerack to see my options (20" rims) and there is only the Continental option for 272 bucks. By going 10mm wider (245/40/20) a hole bunch of options open up. I dropped down from Max performance to Ultra high performance and picked up yokahama S drives ($145). South Florida is basically flat and straight with a rainy season and they will serve me well. I have S Drives on another car and think they are a great package of dry, wet, low noise and durability.

10mm really opens up options for the 20" rims.

10mm also save your rims, i am running 245 45 19 and love it. looks better too.
only problem to me that yokos s-drive are heavy, car will be slower.
the lighter tire will be faster.

you are right 3lbs heavier. I will live with it - better ride, noise and wear at half the price.
