I have an '18 with the dynamic plus package, Recaro seats, and AMG exhaust; awesome daily driver. I have a bad back (herniated disc between L4/L5) and I have no issues driving it on long trips. Most I've done is 3 hrs non-stop and 8 hours accumulative, and my back was fine. As far as fuel mileage, I usually get somewhere around 25 mpg on comfort mode and mostly back roads. I get more on the autobahn unless I switch to sport mode and go over 140 mph; which usually gets me about 19 mpg. The 2-stage adjustable damper is not too bad, comfort mode is stiff and sport is stiffer. Haven't heard any complaints from my wife and kids even when the suspension was on the sport setting. I usually take the windy back roads on my way home and that's when I really feel the suspension doing it's best.

I had a 2017 (nov 16 build) GLA 45 for around a year and a bit:
suspension was firm but this translates more in terms of noise, rather than feeling it hit your back. I had the recaro seats on mine. My vehicle unfortunately did not have the adaptive damper option, so i cant tell what difference that would make. what i can say though is at higher speeds in comfort mode, the suspension would be a bit bouncy/springy but the ride was quite comfortable. Sport plus mode would result in a very planted ride with only a tiny bit of lean if you're going too fast into a corner and this was a warning more than anything that you may start to lose traction, it was very communicative and added a layer of fun. The ride is slightly raised vs a CLA and A 45, adding a bit of additional practicality, and also more forgiving.
In the UK, mileage-wise, best i did was 35.5mpg on a motorway cruise. Combined was around 23 from memory (8k miles) and on the motorway it was always 25+mpg (speed limited to around 95 miles per hour).

dont get 15 i have it. the most of 15 are with tranni issues. you can google it. it makes funny knocking and sounds. something is up and dealer says its normal, but its not.
everything works fine otherwise.
28-29mpg if driving comely in C, which i do all the time, unless someone want to race. then drops hard, i got stage 2 tune tough.
