2018 AMG GLA-45
Shock absorber failure

Does anybody experience a early shock failure?

I have a 2018 GLA 45 4Matic with AMG Sport suspension and one rear shock is broken leaving an oil leak all over the floor. It’s been at the dealer for warranty almost two months s, because there is no replacement shock for the car at the factory in Germany.
This is really a BAD experience with MB and I’m very angry about it. NO PARTS FOR A NEW CAR? I hope that someone here from MB read this, that this is ridiculous and the customer satisfaction is VERY BAD. I will never buy MB and I will not recommend the brand.

That seems quite strange for such a common part?

Yes it is, the car is one year old with only 4900 miles. I barely use it. I want to believe that the shock was defective since new but, I already lost interest in the car.

Sad to hear no one at MB has stepped up to solve a seemingly simple problem. Sounds like they need a new service manager at your local dealer. You could not convince me that the part is not available somewhere in MBs system.

I’m more than sad,I’m angry. This could happen to anybody but I’m my case I'll have to wait until the part comes from Germany because the manager says that there is non in USA. This dealer is damaging the brand and I heard horrible endless stories of customer having defective new cars, crazy expensive bills and a lot more. If I would know this before I buy my car, I wouldn’t.
