GLA45 suspension and aftermarket parts

Hello everyone,

I just picked up my GLA45, I’m looking for a handful of parts hopefully you guys can help me with some questions. First, what is everyone running for aftermarket coilovers, also i would like some exterior pieces such as the wing. Where could one find that!?

Congrats on the new GLA45. Are you planning to track the car or just looking for a lower stance? I'm having a tough time finding suspension parts for the car too. I'd like to dial back a little body roll, especially in the rear, with some aftermarket sway bars. There are very few options but even fewer GLA45 owners with first hand experience.

I used Gecko coilovers from Tricolore Performance for a year. Took them off a year ago and put the car back to stock suspension.

I just have H&R sport springs and they work well with the adjustable dampers. Not much of a drop but noticeably stiffer spring rates compared to stock and yet not too harsh in my opinion.

Hello Bruce, are they are the H&R 28809-3 ? 1” front and .6” rear? could you send me pictures of how does it look with those springs? I would like to see before I buy them.

Thanks
Osvaldo

Here’s a couple of shots from this morning. I have 10mm spacers in each corner as well.

Could you let me know which H&R springs are installed? Are they are 28809-3? 1” inch front and .6 inch rear?

Thanks.

Hey Bruce.. reviving a dead thread,

Do you reckon you you would be able to fit a 245 under there with no rubbing ?
Id like to put a set of PS4S on there in a 245 and run the same combo springs and 10mm spacers all round..
I dont want flush as its a daily but just to fill the guards but NO rubbing under any circumstances.
I know the 245s and springs will look great but id rather buy the spacers now before i get everything set up and aligned ..

Hope you can help..
Cheers

Correction, The spacers that I have are 15mm per corner, not 10mm. Sorry about the confusion. With that said, my winter setup is 245 and there are some slight rubbing. You might be able to getaway with 10mm spacers but I can't say for sure. Sorry I'm not much of a help.

Thanx Bruce,
5mm is a decent amount of room so it might be perfect, can I ask what tyres u have on the 245s? This might be the key to the equation and I can look up their dementions and compare off car before I purchase the spacers. Michelins I will be running tend to be a big wide tyre above their designated size.

Can anyone else confirm that 245/40-20 PS4S with H&R springs and 10mm spacers work ??
