Rear suspension with third row option.

This is mostly a curiosity, but I know some vehicles I’ve looked at, when equipped with a third row, come with a heavy duty rear suspension. I do not recall seeing anything about that, but thought others may have looked into that on the GLB.

I suppose one way to find out would be to compare the GAWR REAR on a 5 passenger to that of a 7 passenger model of the same type, i.e., both 2WD or both 4Matic, and both 250 or both 35 AMG.

Thanks @wireman218 definitely some heavier duty suspension then, with the added eight of the third row you still gain over 300 lb. I am coming at this more from a handling standpoint than a load carrying standpoint, I think I am going to see if I can find the parts diagrams to see if it is just the spring and shock.

Makes sense. Two extra passengers and a couple of school bags. The combined passenger and baggage weight is almost 1200 lbs, which is surprising considering the size of a GLB.

Looks like you are going to have to use a current Mercedes EPC or ask at the dealer parts desk for numbers, because the online parts suppliers don't seem to show a distinction between rear suspension parts for 5 seats vs 7 seats.
