Will 2016 GLC come with Diesel version in North America
From the online reading, it only mentioned 2.0T gas in the first year for USA/Canada market.
But the guy in dealership (in Canada) said it may come with diesel version as well, but they still don't have ordering guide.
Anyone can clarify?

Well - the YouTube aside - to the OP - correct, the launch date of the North American GLC300d BlueTech has not been announced - at best I would "guess" late Spring.
North American branding will be GLC300d - not the Euro 250d designation - and one of the development hoops - the GLC will use the new 9G transmission - a whole new ball of wax with that.
For diesel enthusiasts who are interested - the 2016 C300d 4matic will launch Spring.. now that will be a very interesting sedan..

Currently GLK250 makes about 15% overall of GLK sales, and I hope that Mercedes will not miss this opportunity to earn business share and introduce diesel version sooner than later. I will wait until than.

Not much choice but to wait! But, time frames for the expected intro to North America are identical to expectations and the introduction of the GLK diesel in 2012-13. All indications timewise are almost identical. If I recall correctly, dealers became aware of the availability in January. Production started in February and cars were being delivered shortly thereafter. I ordered mine in February-March and picked up at the factory in May. Timing for this new one is perfect for me and I'm already planning a redo as my lease expires. I expect to be in Stuttgart in May again and already have the trip scheduled and planned.

Confirmed with dealership, diesel version will come to NA 2 years after(looking at late 2017), though it will be available in EU this year. Things may change but no diesel for MY16 is for sure.

All I could find is an article in theglobeandmail.com that "For now, four-cylinder turbo (shared with the C 300 4MATIC) is standard, mated to a new nine-speed automatic gearbox. For 2017 a new diesel goes on sale in Canada and for 2018 a hybrid joins the lineup."
Let's hope that in U.S. We will see diesel earlier.

states - " or a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel, available in the fourth quarter of 2016 as a 2017 model."
Today the adviser from MB of Rochester Hills, MI on my question "When I can expect you can start accept factory orders for diesel version" answered - "2017".

It's a nice video but 8 of the 10 minutes are spent on roads and terrain that most of us will never drive on or might not even want to. For some silly reason MB thinks that the tablet stuck on the dash is attractive (well maybe to some) but the GL-ML-GLK series was edgier than most others in the MB lineup and that was a big style differentiater. Now it is from the exterior starting to look like the Q5.
Since the GLC's won't be here until November and only offer a 4 cyl. I may go with a '16 Q5 that has 4 different engine configurations available right now. Don't get me wrong I love my GLK and it has served me well but..................

I was at our local dealership on Sunday (Lakeland, Florida) and they had a new glc220d on their lot. Should have taken a picture!

Are you sure you didn't see a GLE 300d? I was there a week and a half ago and they had just one GLC. Looking at their inventory now, I see it and one more; also a 300c.

I've just recently been in touch with friends @ MB-USA. The 'Party Line' is intro of the diesel is with the '17's. I still don't believe it as that is what was said of the GLK diesel, but I'm starting to! Making alternate plans re mine and acquiring the diesel GLC. No factory delivery for me in winter over there. Bummer! Have one more source, a service manager friend who recently went over for a tech class. He figured he'd know from the classes, what they teach and what he'd ask. Haven't had a chance to get with him, but I will.

Yeah, I have. Both with the Service rep and with a pretty good sales type. That was about a month ago. Their "build" sheet on computer still doesn't give a diesel option through the end of March. That facility is regularly upgraded and at the time I checked it was updated through end of March. I figure on contact again to see if in an update the diesel option may start being available for summer, or even early fall delivery. They may make it available for Euro delivery before the USA intro date in November since they car wouldn't be brought into the USA until after that time. I had one picked up in early October a few years back and it starts getting dicey over there for snow and cold. Hoping that may still happen. If I get any positive results I'll post.
I'd hope to pick up no later than mid September, drive it over there 3 weeks or so, deliver to the shipping agent early October, then with the 6-8 week delay in transport it wouldn't get here till well after the projected intro date in early November. Still possible but it may be wishful thinking. If not, I'll just keep what I have as I really love the one I've got now.

My dealer told me to get ready - a diesel (2017 model) will be available in US at the end of September on the European Delivery Program and shared DOG of the 2017 GLC, release 1. This DOG shows only GLC300 and GLC300 4M at this point.

That is exciting news. I bet the diesel will get great mileage in this SUV. So, maybe the diesel will be delivered Stateside in Nov?

We will see. He stated that "Order Bank will open up the end of this month" for 2017 model I assume. In May 2013 I was told that ordering of 2013 GLK is ended and they put me on 2014 model year. So at that time my 2014 GLK250 was built in August 2013, delivered with ED in Germany on August 27 and arrived in US on October 3d. This time could be different, since they officially silent on diesel version so far.
