GLC Order Waiting Room

Yeah, my car arrived at the dealer 2 weeks ago come tomorrow, and Portland is a lot farther from Long Beach than Arizona. Maybe you car, being a 43, got caught up in the hold on MY18 43s.
My car is a regular GLC300, could it be the people in Long Beach can't tell the difference between a MY17 43 and a MY18?

That's funny. At this point I am ready to pick it up from Long Beach myself. Was told today that it's still sitting at the port and they are trying to find out what's going on. My lease was up on current one, so I have been driving their loaner C Class for weeks now, so they want 43 to arrive quickly too. Ted_Jane was on the ship as mine and will have his 1st maintenance due by the time I get mine!

I have been driving for free, but I have given dealer numerous deals that closed. At the time we thought it was going to be only for a few days, but it's been a couple of weeks now.

Really? I ordered my 43 on April 22. Allegedly (my salesman is not very attentive) it was built and waiting for ship a month ago. So, hopefully, it's close. I'm really surprised that pre-sold cars are not given priority in the builds by manufacturers. Had the same problem with my ordered Nissan.

De-lurking to share some info. I'm also waiting for my my '18 43 which arrived on the Sincerity Ace. Dealer sent me an email today (pasted related portion below)
Unfortunately these are waiting on mod parts to arrive which they do not have a set eta for, therefore they have an estimated ready date of the 31st. It is on the hotlist, but unfortunately they will not be able to have it ready until parts arrive (They do not share the specific parts/ mod)
Hope this helps.

What boat is your Car on? Mercedes uses multiple shipping lines not just WW. Your dealer should be able to tell you when your car makes it to Bremerhaven and when it is assigned to ship and what ship it is on. If your car is coming from Finland it gets two ship rides. If it comes from from Bremen. It gets only one.
Anyway to track the itinerary of the ship?

Pick the vessel name from the drop down and hit go to see the itinerary. You should be able to track it on the Marine Traffic website and/or app.

My dealer just let me know same thing as Merc_Sea relayed which is car delayed because waiting on modifications. They are trying to find out what's involved and how long till it's released. At this point there is nothing I can do, but just wait. Hard to believe it arrived in Long Beach July 19th. For those of us waiting on these modifications let's try to keep each other in the loop as we hear things. Thanks!

Now that I have joined the club of those in the GLC waiting room, here's my first question.
Placed order 8/16/17. By the end of the day dealer had snagged a stock vehicle they had scheduled for production second week in September which still could be changed to my configuration. That change has been made and I have a PO number.
When should I expect the next status change to show up in Netstar?
My sales advisor is a top notch guy and very responsive so I know there will be no problems getting screenshots from Netstar.
Was surprised to learn that VPC for Northeast region is Baltimore rather than Newark. Seems as if there was a contract dispute with NJ unions so MB went to Baltimore.

That's when you want to know the status as it clears Customs and and is received by the VPC. Then once it gets released to the carrier, you're almost there!

Well, finally got the good word that car has completed production and is waiting to get assigned to a ship. Final destination is Boston ... this wait has been soo long!!!
I remember reading a thread / some posts that I can't seem to locate anymore regarding best tips on maintaining the exterior color of the car as well as maintaining the interior mbtext.
My car is Cardinal Red, which from my understanding, needs to be maintained quite well for it to not look dull. If someone can find that thread, could you please share and/or share what you do to maintain the glossy shine?
I watched some videos a while back and saw people using tools to remove the top coat etc etc -- unfortunately I do not have any of tools and really looking for the easiest way to maintain the new car look.
Thanks!

I placed my 18 GLC 300 order in June but the dealer in downtown Los Angeles does not send me any updates on where we are in the process...
