2016 GLC300 4Matic Transmission jolt/jerking problem

As I approach the 1000 mile mark the transmission is smoothing out and has stopped jerking on the downshifts. I tend to keep the drive train in eco mode as this allows coasting. I was switching back and forth between modes and I don't think it likes that.
Much happier now.

When I had a troubled MB trans I thought the same as you and stayed in comfort mode to avoid harsh shifts/clunks. A properly operating MB trans will switch from/to any mode and without issue, comfort or not.

Nightmare Transmission Issues
I found this car comfortable and pleasing until I took it on a long road trip this week. It is only 1 month old with about 2500 miles on it now, and the transmission problem is increasing and becoming severe. I am not to my destination and far from home, and so it is extra disconcerting. I MUST get to my destination and never dreamed this car would stand in my way of that.
The problem started as an occasional abrupt shift and now feels like it is going to self destruct in the severe gear changes.
STUCK with NOW ANSWER!
Thanks Mercedes/Daimler. My confidence in your products is now completely shot. I loved two SLK250s that I owned and though this would be a roomier version of the same dependable comfort. Man was I WRONG!
It does not matter what mode the car is in..sport sport+ etc etc. Transmission is horrible in all.

2016 GLC300 4Matic Transmission jolt/jerking problem
Wow! Amazing so many people have this problem.
I have less than 4000 miles on it and afraid to go too far. It is incredible I cannot rely on a new car. Not only a car but a mercedes. It's my first one and the last one Very disappointed!!!!

How long have you had your car? When was it assembled? Have you or will you go to the dealer to get it checked out? This appears to only be affecting a small number of cars. Most people that are complaining created their Mbworld account because they were having the issue. Have them test drive it and try software updates. Remember, it still is in warranty.

Why are you afraid to go to far? If you are fearful of a breakdown, why not take it to the dealer ASAP and express your concern?

That's exactly what I want to know. I don't understand why everyone fears taking it to the dealer when the vehicle is clearly under warranty. Am I missing something here?

I would think that there are probably other dealers SA's on this forum that would love to dissuade someone from buying a very popular GLC300. Seriously does the info in this thread strike that much fear that someone is afraid drive their car? A first post of "afraid to go too far" sounds a little "fishy" and no response from the OP to others advising to go to a dealer.

Driving my new GLC 4Matic for about a week. I noticed the jolt just once on day1, but I thought it was just me not operating my first MB the right way, with its complicated mechanics. The other time the engine was making a revving noise but not accelerating when hitting the gas pedal, but later realized I hit the Manual button accidentally in the center console. Haven't noticed the jolt again after the initial occurrence and I hope it stays that way.

I had the transmission issue also. Purchased a new 2016 4-matic, drove maybe 100 miles and had a severe bang. Happened three separate days, once as I was slowly accelerating and once when I let off the gas. The last time were three rapid bangs as I made a slow turn. All in comfort (I never touch the dynamic switch). These bangs were severe - I thought I was rear-ended. Brought it to my dealership, they kept it for a week or so and probably put 400/500 miles on it - could not replicate the problem. Was told they looked at the software files, sent info to Mercedes, etc.
As I said the bangs were so hard that I couldn't believe they didn't register on the computer. Best way to describe it is rapidly pushing a manual clutch to the floor then dropping the clutch. But zero forward momentum.
Dealer gave me the car back and now I just turned 1000 miles without any additional issues.

Well, that blows my theory that MB may have ironed out the problem by now unless your car was on the lot for awhile. Amazing that "These bangs were severe - I thought I was rear-ended" didn't cause any noticeable damage. Grateful if you can kindly keep the forum advised regarding any future occurrences and/or consequences of the bangs that may show up later.

Hadn't noticed but you are right ... nothing more from the OP on their initial post. Starting to wonder if this is much to do about nothing (all bogus info) by SA's working for other dealers trying to sway sales away from GLC300. It does seem rather odd that these "concerned" folks just fade away without any further posts. Kind of gives me pause as to whether some posted concerns are "real" or "bogus".
