Brought my car in and SA said MB is aware of the strut issue and is in process of updating/modifying the strut. Greased up for now.

MB replaced both front struts. Note that they used electronic ear to pinpoint the noise.

I was told that the replacement struts are the same and therefore the risk of noise will still be there. Assume this is true. They said they will call me when the new strut is available.

So I my mb dealer greased up the boot. After 1 day, the noise is back. I brought it in today, but the noise is barely there. Is there any way I can replicate this consistently?

Mine started to have quite similar dash/front driver strut old door like noise , on speed humps or slight road imperfections. Booked in dealer next month but will try to see it can be earlier without loan car.
Normal suspension, 7000km on the dash.

Same here. Noise started about a month ago at 4000 km. The dealer said they would need to reach out to engineers in Germany, finally called today to make an appointment for two days.

For people who have had the struts replaced, do you know if this is a case of bad batch of parts or a more generic design issue ? I am afraid if they just replace with the same thing, the issue will keep coming back.

2014 cayman s - 2017 Macan S--
Went to the dealer twice with this no help. Even the loner had the same thing.
Could not deal with a new car having wheels vibration and reverberation feeling in steering wheel. Then the dealer looking at you like you have two heads.
So Today I fixed my problem myself.
I bought the 2017 Macan S.
Got a good deal on trade. I paid 49k for MB they gave me 47k . Lucky me
Good luck to all I hope they find a fix.

that's quite the deal! some dealers are really dicks my dealer told me they ordered a "special" lubrication from Germany that will fix the problem and that it will be here this week so i left a message yesterday and still no call back from them.

much overdue update: after the "special German lubrication" exact words from the service department. The noise is gone although when i look up into the front right wheel well i can clearly see a white paste like substance on the strut and its surrounding areas. The strut has not been replaced and the car drives fine (just finished a 4000+km road trip half way across the country) but it's still a little unsettling.

How is your car now after the fix, also which dealer did you go to? I have the same issue after 800km.

again...

After the previous fix over 1 year ago, my car is making the squeak noise again when get over bumps.

Have any of you experienced the same? What was your remedy?

So far, the creaky noise (over bumps or uneven road) is gone.

Hope it helps for diagnosis on other GLC.
